Homemade Natural Cough Syrup

Homemade Natural Cough Syrup
What you will need:
Zest of 2 lemons
¼ cup of grated ginger
1 cup filtered water
1 cup raw honey
1 cup lemon juice

In a saucepan combine the lemon zest, water and ginger.
Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes – then strain.
In a saucepan on a low heat, gently heat the honey (DO NOT LET IT BOIL AS THIS DESTROYS IT’S ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES)
Add the lemon & ginger water and the lemon juice gradually until it forms a syrup. Pour into a glass jar and keep refrigerated for up to 2 months.
Have a spoonful a day to boost the immune system all year round or take daily to soothe sore throats and relieve cold and cough symptoms
