Raw Chocolate

If you are a lover of chocolate like we are then this recipe is for you !! There are so many different things you can do with it, chocolates, chocolate bark  recipe here you can make them into parcels and give them as little homemade presents and its great fun to do with the little ones !

As you will know by now I am really passionate about real food and ingredients ! When looking into the chocolate available in most shops I was concerned to say the least …. my favourite chocolates were, well, full of crap. Soya, E numbers , 5 types of different sugars disguised as something else and more ! Where was the chocolate in these chocolate bars ? So I went on the hunt for real chocolate – there are some amazing chocolates out there by some awesome companies that are delicious and full of goodness ( here are my recommended ones) but when you are on a budget and you LOVE chocolate like we do I wanted to be able to make my own – it had never really crossed my mind before until I discovered how easy it is !!

Before we look at the recipe I just want to let you know that there are actually some health benefits to chocolate ………real chocolate made from Cacao not the sweet sugary stuff – if you are interested in finding out more check out my article on Real Chocolate

 

What you will need

1/2 cup Raw Cacao

1/2 cup Coconut Oil or Raw Cacao Butter

1/2 cup maple Syrup

Silicone moulds

Added extras : peanut butter, almond butter, orange zest, cranberries , nuts , raisins (see my chocolate nut butter cups recipe here )

On a low heat gently melt the Cacao Butter (or coconut oil)

Once melted, take off the heat and stir in the cacao powder and maple syrup.

Slowly pour into silicone moulds and add to the fridge to set ….. remove from the moulds and enjoy !
